Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to Kilimanjaro

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your Arusha hotel. Rest, refresh, and attend a detailed trek briefing with your head guide in the evening.

Day 2: Drive to Londorossi Gate – Trek to Shira 1 Camp

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. Begin trekking through the Shira Plateau to Shira 1 Camp, where your support team awaits with dinner and camp setup.

Day 3: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp – Optional Cathedral Peak

Trek toward Shira 2 Camp, gaining altitude with panoramic views. Optional acclimatization hike to Cathedral Peak or Lava Tower for added altitude adaptation.

Day 4: Trek to Lava Tower – Descend to Barranco Camp

Ascend to 4,600m at Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to the lush and scenic Barranco Valley, home to giant groundsel and towering cliffs.

Day 5: Barranco Wall Climb – Trek to Karanga Camp

Scale the famous Barranco Wall and continue across ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp. Optional short hikes in the afternoon help with altitude adjustment.

Day 6: Trek to Barafu Camp – Summit Base

Reach Barafu Camp, your launch point for summit day. Spend the afternoon organizing gear, resting, and mentally preparing for the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak & Descent to Millennium Camp

Start the summit push at midnight. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and continue to Uhuru Peak. After celebration, descend to Millennium Camp via Barafu for overnight rest.

Day 8: Descend to Mweka Gate – Back to Arusha

Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Collect your summit certificate and transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved shower, rest, and celebration.

Day 9: Departure or Optional Zanzibar or Safari Extension

Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or begin your next adventure—a Serengeti safari or a Zanzibar beach extension. The choice is yours.
